The middle school program represents a very important phase in a student’s educational experience. The goals of the instructional program are to assist students in making the transition from middle school to high school curriculum. Skills in reading, writing, literature, mathematics, history/social science, and science are further developed in the required course sequence. Elective courses such as foreign language, art, music, and home economics serve to broaden the student’s educational background. Both required and elective courses are described for each course in the Middle School Course Catalog.

Ensuring that all OMSD students enter high school with the skills, knowledge and capabilities to fulfill each of their “a-g” requirements is of utmost importance to us.  We are working closely with the Chaffey Union High School District to ensure all OMSD students have the prerequisite skills in the four core subject areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies that will lead to successful graduation from high school and career and college readiness.
