High quality, effective Professional Development is offered to all teachers and administrators in the Ontario-Montclair School District.  Our professional development plan offers a tiered, differentiated program that meets the needs of our teachers and focuses on building highly effective teams, increases the achievement of our English Learner and Special Needs students, and promotes quality writing instruction across the curriculum. In addition, our adminstrative teams also participate in twice monthly professional learning community teams focusing on best practices relative to program implementation.

To ensure that our professional development is embedded into daily practice, instructional coaches provide demonstration lessons, facilitate cognitive planning sessions and facilitate large and small scale professional development sessions. In addition, our district proudly partners with educational consultants and universities to ensure our professional development is research-based, relevant to our student and staff needs, and engaging to the adult learner resulting in higher levels of student performance.
