Classified Professional Development administers the following Classified funding programs:
- Classified Professional Growth Programn: OMSD's base reimbursement program for continuing education-contracted only (see sidebar link)
- Classified Professional Development Program: a funding program for classified staff to attend seminars and workshops related to their current position-contracted only. (see sidebar link)
- Classified Supplemental Professional Growth Program: a reimbursement program for continuing education at the four year college or university level-contracted only. Open only to contracted classified already utilizing the Classified Professional Growth Program. (see sidebar link)
Funding is currently available for classified contracted staff to attend conferences and to receive college tuition reimbursement. Contact Milissa for more details.
Classified Staff Development coordinates internal and external training opportunities for Classified Staff.

Classified Staff Development also administers testing for the following:
Pre-Application Testing:
- 2 Part Written/OSHA test for Custodians and Sub Custodians
- NCLB testing to qualify Learning Leaders for Think Together (afterschool programs) and to gain NCLB equivalency prior to applying for Instructional Aide positions.
- Typing tests for clerical/administrative support
- Bilingual part I-Written test for Translators and Bilingual Staff.
Post-Application Testing:
- Playground Safety tests for incoming Noon Aides
- Bilingual Oral Testing for Interpreters and Translators
Please see the District Calendar-Pre Employment Testing to view current external testing dates. Space is limited, so testers are encouraged to test in advance of postings. Testing is offered twice monthy during the academic year in order to allow external testers to test in advance of any postings. OMSD cannot guarantee that testing will be available during all posting periods, due to the timing of the postings.
