Ontario-Montclair School District proudly celebrates its 125th year!
On September 15, 1884, 20 children walked upstairs to the loft of George McIntyre’s carpenter shop, located near C Street and Euclid Ave., making it a classroom of sorts, and the Ontario School District officially began offering instruction.
After the first school year, expenditures totaled $49.18 for a four-month period, not including $10 monthly rental of the McIntyre loft and $50 a month for one teacher, Miss Jamie N. Case.
